For those wanting to experience the country, but don't have time for one of our longer tours, we also offer a short weekend stay. This stay consists of two days and two nights of relaxing in beautiful north east Victoria right next to the Cathedral Ranges with personal guided visits to popular locations in the local area. Of course though, the main purpose of this getaway is to give you a chance to rest and see a unique perspective of Australian country life, and at every stage of your tour with us we will do everything we can to make you comfortable and provide you with activities that are tailored to your group. We are always happy to modify the trip to suit your needs and desires.

Guests will be picked up from Box Hill Central or a more convenient location if arranged prior on Friday around 5pm. From there we will drive around one and a half hours to Taggerty where we will serve dinner. After a beautiful evening under the starlight, or inside by the fireplace (depending on the season), you will enjoy a good night sleep either in our house, or if more then 4 people, we will bring you to your accommodation at the Taggerty Caravan Park.

On Saturday morning you will enjoy breakfast with us, followed by a scenic walk/climb up to the top of Sugarloaf peak where 360 degree views over the whole Cathedral Valley are sure to take your breath away.
For those who are worried about their fitness level, we can offer easier alternatives to the climb including a short walk to the top of our property where there are spectacular views of the Cathedral Ranges. There's also a good chance of seeing a variety of native wildlife on the walk including kangaroos, wombats and many native birds.
On Saturday afternoon, you have the option to explore more of the local area with us as your personal tour guides or relax at our house and make new friends. Children can play and explore in a safe environment. For dinner we will prepare you a delicious home cooked meal and if the weather permits, we can even enjoy a barbecue and sit around a fire under the starlight after dinner. We will return you to your accommodation Saturday evening.
We will pick you up again Sunday morning for breakfast at our home before we make our way to explore the popular town of Eildon including a drive over the Eildon dam wall.
After lunch we will drive to the beautiful quiet little town of Marysville where we will explore the Steavenson's waterfall. From Marysville we will make our way back to Melbourne via Healesville township. The Healesville Sanctuary wildlife zoo can also be included if you are interested.
For those who aren't interested in tours of the local tourist attractions, we have lots of other options of offer. Our 50 acre property keeps us very busy outside and inside with chores such as gardening, woodcutting, fruit and vegetable preserving and yoghurt making. If interested you are welcome to join our family and experience life on the farm and help us carry out some of these activities along with tea on the verandah with a lovely view and a tranquil environment. This is a great opportunity to get children involved in a practical, educational and fun experience of country living. We also manage a small soap and skin care business and if you are interested in learning how to make soap we are happy to offer small soap making courses.
